National Independence Day Parade July 4, 2024

The National Independence Day Parade is a vibrant celebration featuring marching bands, military units, and colorful floats. Held annually on July 4th, it attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators. This patriotic event is a must-see for anyone looking to experience the annual excitement of Independence Day in DC. The parade will begin on Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Street at 11:45AM.

A Capitol Fourth July 4, 2024

For over 40 years, PBS has been broadcasting A Capitol Fourth, an annual star-studded concert from Washington D.C., ending in an epic firework show over the National Mall. This event is a highlight of America's Independence Day celebration, featuring a parade of superstars and offering the best in the country's entertainment. The concert begins at 8PM on July 4th and is open to the public. Access to the Capitol grounds opens at 3PM from the gates located at the southwest corner. Whether enjoyed in person or on PBS, A Capitol Fourth us a must-see event. Arriving early is recommended to secure a prime spot for this star-spangled event.
